home sweet home...

when it rains, it pours. so many new things have happened in the last couple of days. i will start with...

monday.
in portland, all food service jobs require that you obtain a food handlers card and an OLCC (alcohol) permit before you can work. the tests are pretty simple and can be taken online. before hand you are recommended to study a general manual. so monday, i was studying the food handlers manual while kyrb was at work and found the diagrams pretty amusing.

if you can read the print, it starts by outlining the temperatures when certain foods begin to grow harmful germs and bacteria. the temperatures between 41 and 140 degrees F may not seem too scary to the general public, but to the multnomah county health department they are known as the "DANGER ZONE."
from that point on i kind of lost it, thanks in part to the ever so memorable Kenny Loggins and the rest of the graphics. enjoy. (kev, this post is inspired by you)

then the best news came...
that night.
for about a week we had been in correspondence with a girl who responded to our "need a room," post on craigslist. after our meeting with her over the weekend she confidently told us we could move in monday night if we wanted. what? no more searching craigslist! no more getting turned down by flaky leads that were terrified of couples! this was to good to be true. so monday we packed up what little things we had said goodbye to the fella's and headed a mile away to our precious new abode. (to be continued)
